“Plant molecular farming is defined as a large-scale production of recombinant proteins for the purpose of their use as biotechnological products with different applications. This plant biotechnological approach holds a tremendous potential for cost-effective, fast, scalable and safe production of large amounts of recombinant proteins to be used as biopharmaceuticals, veterinary products, research reagents, food supplements, etc. Molecular farming as a field deals not only with expression of recombinant proteins but also with all aspects relevant to growing and harvesting of the actual plants producing them, as well as approaches to protein extraction, storage, and delivery forms to the final consumer. In my seminar I will show you different examples on how plant molecular farming can deal with different aspects of current and future therapeutic and preventive challenges”.
